This past week I (Jason) had the great opportunity of attending a plus class leading up to the annual WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) conference held in Las Vegas. As always there is an abudance of information obtained and a ton of fun networking and communicating with others in the photography industry. This year’s conference had some 16,000 professional photographers registered…just to give you an idea of the size and influence of this conference on this industry…very influential! Kirk Voclain from Louisiana was the instructor whose class I selected to attend, and wow what an experience! Doing some research beforehand had given me a glimpse of his talent and he certainly did not disappoint. Below are some of the images I was able to grab during one of the afternoon model shoots we had as part of this class. So now, it’s back to business here and time to apply some of what I learned!
***UPDATE*** The camera has sold. Thank you for the inquiries….
So…you might ask; “what’s a photographer selling equipment for?” We picked up a Canon 5D Mark II last November and love it! The color right out of the camera is brilliant, beautiful, outstanding…we could go on and on and rave about it. In fact, we’ll be blogging more about this amazing camera in the near future. We decided our 5D Mark II and back-up 40D will be the perfect combo for an amazing year of photography coming up.
With that, we’re selling our 30D (shown in the picture below) in addition to a few lenses and CF Cards. Here’s the complete package (we’re not selling each piece individually):
- Canon 30D
- Battery Extension Grip (BG-E2)
- Canon 50mm 1.8 II lens
- Canon 18-55mm F3.5 II lens
- Canon 75-300mm 4.0 lens
- SanDisk Compact Flash Ultra II 2.0GB cards (six total)
Shoot us an email at [email protected] if you’re interested.
This past Monday night, I was honored to speak at the Minot Camera club and was asked to judge pictures from their monthly contest. This month’s theme was “bridges” and the images were outstanding – very difficult to narrow down to a top 3 in each category. This is a great group of amateur photographers who share their passion of photography with one another. For those of you who want to learn more information about this excellent club, check out their web site at www.minotcameraclub.com. They meet twice per month at the Minot Public Library.
Thank you Janell (who is a member of this club and invited me to attend) for taking a few pictures from the evening. Yikes…this is why I like taking the pictures!
